What is Mercurius? 

Mercurius is the name of the e-invoicing platform of the Belgian government services. Various governments and public services can receive e-invoices on this platform.

How do you send an invoice to Mercurius?

When you create an invoice in onFact, it is automatically converted to UBL format (e-invoice) as well. Via PEPPOL you can immediately send your UBL invoice from onFact to a government body, which then receives it via Mercurius. To do this, you need to know the company number of the government service you want to reach and the PO number or order reference that you must put on the invoice.

Entrepreneurs who do not yet work with invoicing software that enables e-invoicing can log in to the Mercurius platform directly to enter their invoice manually and convert it into an e-invoice.

Mercurius was set up to achieve a standardised exchange (receiving and sending) of e-invoices between companies and governments (B2G). In Belgium, PEPPOL or Mercurius has been the norm for invoicing Flemish government bodies since 2017.
