OCR
What does OCR mean?
OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition. With this OCR technology, computers convert the characters on a paper medium into computer-readable codes. OCR software thus reads letters, numbers and punctuation marks from scanned documents, ready for smooth further processing.
What do you use OCR for?
Although invoicing and purchasing between buyer and seller increasingly take place digitally, the era of the paper invoice is far from over. Scanning such documents makes it possible to process their information automatically and store it digitally. Without OCR software, you have to retype all information manually, because computer programs cannot process a scanned image without OCR software.
Use of OCR in onFact
onFact also uses OCR technology to process purchases (invoices, receipts, …). They are uploaded directly into the program, after which the OCR software takes care of the conversion. The technology extracts data such as the supplier's name, VAT number, invoice reference and much more from the document and places it in the appropriate fields, automatically and quickly.
